FAQs
Who is it suitable for and is it safe?
Reflexology is suitable and safe for all ages, although for anyone under 18 consent must be provided by the parent or guardian and they may be required to be present during the treatment. Reflexology may bring relief from a wide range of acute and chronic conditions. Most people feel extremely relaxed and have a feeling of well being after a treatment. Many people find it beneficial to continue with regular treatments in order to maintain health and well-being.
What happens when I go for treatment?
On the first visit, we will have a preliminary talk with you to determine your present and past health and lifestyle. Pressure is then applied to the feet on specific pressure points representing corresponding areas of your body i.e. organs and systems. Feedback will be given after the treatment has finished and a course of treatment may be recommended depending on the individual situation.
How many treatments will I need?
This depends on each clients individual needs and will be determined at the end of the first treatment. Typically 6 treatments allow for an effective response although you may feel a benefit after the first 1 or 2.
How will I feel after a reflexology treatment?
After one or two treatments your body may respond in various ways. Most people get a sense of wellbeing and relaxation; sometimes clients report feeling lethargic, nauseous or tearful, but this is always a very temporary reaction and normally happens within 24 hours. It is a part of the body’s natural healing process. It is normally a sign that the treatment has helped.
How do I pay for treatments?
Cash or cheque payment is required at time of treatment. Special rates are available for clients on benefits or pensions (proof will be required of eligibility). Appointments cancelled with less than 24hours notice or not attended may incur a charge.
